Category:Video games set in 1776U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., has come out in favor of a bipartisan immigration bill to change the legal immigration system.
Gutierrez, a moderate Democrat from Chicago, told the AP that he hopes he can be part of a deal on an immigration bill that is part of a deal on a federal spending package that funds the government.
The deal on a spending bill is expected in a few weeks, and could include an immigration bill.
Gutierrez said that he hopes a comprehensive reform plan will pass, but he doesn't know if it will.
"I don't know. I hope so. I hope that that is the case. We're gonna see," he said.
Gutierrez said the new bill is similar to the so-called DREAM Act, which allows illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to stay in the country and eventually become U.S. citizens if they attend college or join the military.
He said the new bill would let people stay in the U.S. while also beefing up border security.
