Knoll Light Factory is an Adobe Photoshop plugin for creating lens flares and other lighting effects. While you could create many of the same effects by hand in Photoshop, Knoll's preset-based approach is much faster and more intuitive. If you want to add digital light effects to your images, this is one of the best ways to do it.
Applying a lighting effect from Knoll Light Factory should be one of the final steps in your workflow. The effect is rendered by the plugin so cannot be modified after it is applied. When you have processed an image to the point where you are ready to apply the light flare, create a new layer on top and merge all visible to it.

Simply highlight the area you wish to keep at its current ratio, and apply. The highlighted area will remain the same, and the outer areas will stretch to fill the frame. You can customize this quite a bit, so whatever your subject matter, you should be able to achieve a visually pleasing effect.
I see that on their website, it states that their Photoshop plugin is no longer supported: -us/articles/115002791488-Can-I-still-buy-Knoll-Light-Factory-for-Photoshop- - it looks like Light Factory is more of a video lighting effects plugin now, rather than one for still images like it used to be.
I did do a quick search for some alternative software but I didn't find anything that looked like what I'm looking for...I figured I would try my hand at asking here to see if anyone else has had any experience using any similar lighting software for photography, specifically within Photoshop CC? 2ff7e9595c
