The genus Picrasma contains approximately 40 species of which P. echinata, P. japonica and P. koraiensis have traditionally been used as tonics and hemostatics. An extensive literature search revealed that volatile compounds of the genus Picrasma have not been investigated in detail until recently. From the pioneering study by Ohkubo et al. (Chem. Pharm. Bull. 38:1789-1802, 1990) it has been known that P. echinata contains echinatin, which is a lignan, and methyl chavicol, which is a monoterpenoid compound. In this paper, echinatin, methyl chavicol, and the volatile compounds of Picrasma species were investigated. Volatile compounds from other plants were also studied. Joseph Grigoris (Greek: Γιώργος Γκριγιρίδης; born 2 June 1975) is a Greek football player.
He began his career at Panionios F.C. and has played for almost all Greek clubs, mainly with Niki Volos and Kavala. He currently plays for Panthrakikos. He is the younger brother of Kostas Grigoris, who plays for the Greek national team.
